Port of Taranto: new tender won for T&A
Tecnologia&Ambiente, together with Ambiente, C.I.S.A. and Studio Effemme Chimica Applicata, won an important tender called by the Port System Authority of the Ionian Sea.
This project involves the ‘Integrated Environmental Monitoring of the Taranto Port Area’ to control the overall quality status of the port’s land-sea system.
T&A will be responsible for a three-year monitoring covering several environmental matrices.
Seawater
Monitoring in 10 fixed and 49 mobile stations to detect inorganic, organic and microbiological pollutants.
Groundwater
Monitoring through 26 piezometers along the coast with analyses similar to those for seawater and verification of Contamination Threshold Concentrations (CSC).
Air
Monitoring with 3 fixed stations to detect dust (PM10, PM2.5), sulphur dioxide (SO2), nitrogen oxides (NO/NO2/NOx), carbon monoxide (CO), ozone (O3) and BTEX.
Soil
Analysis of parameters such as nitrogen and phosphorous to assess the suitability of soil for vegetation.
Sediments
Surface monitoring at 10 locations and at variable depth (10-20 metres) at 5 locations to search for organic and inorganic pollutants.
Filter organisms
Analysis of the bioaccumulation of pollutants (metals, PAHs, PCBs) in sampled organisms.
T&A is proud to be part of this project and contribute to the protection and improvement of the environment of the port of Taranto.
